How Healyan uses light to strengthen the mind
What's the Issue?
- After the age of 50, the brain’s support system starts to wear down. Microglia—the cells that keep neurons healthy—lose their rhythm.
- As a result, neurons misfire, and key structures like myelin (which speeds up neuron signals) and synapses (which connect neurons) begin to break down.

What's the Solution?

High patient studies (250=n) have demonstrated that visual frequency therapy significantly reduces cognitive decline and brain volume loss. Is Healyan safe?
The Healyan wearable is safe and non-invasive, and has no significant side effects or negative reactions from routine use in adults and children alike. It can be used as a complement to enhance the effects of many other cognitive exercises, therapeutics, and medications without harmful interactions. If you're sensitive to light or flickering light, the Healyan App can adjust the brightness level to individual comfort levels.
How long for results?
To get started, we recommend using the Healyan wearable for a minimum of 1
hour a day, 7 days a week - 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes at night. One can certainly use it more if they'd like - the more one uses it, the better it works.

How does it work, in detail?
Healyan uses a therapy method known as gamma visual neuromodulation. This means the lights embedded in the frames flicker at 40 Hz - too fast to be consciously perceived, but still detectable by retinal cells in the eyes.
This steady 40 Hz rhythm aligns with gamma brain activity, which is associated with high-level cognitive function such as critical thinking, memory recall, focus, and learning. In healthy brains, gamma activity plays an important role in efficient neural communication.
As the brain ages, it often becomes less able to consistently enter and sustain this 40 Hz gamma state. By delivering light at the same frequency, Healyan provides an external rhythm that the brain can synchronize with - similar to a cognitive exercise that encourages neural alignment.
When the brain begins to match this 40 Hz rhythm, research suggests this synchronization may support processes such as toxin clearance, neuronal maintenance, and improved blood, oxygen, and nutrient flow.

Should my eyes be closed?
One can use Healyan with eyes open or closed. For best results, increase the glasses’ brightness when outdoors or when the eyes are closed.
Most importantly, adjust the brightness to a level that feels comfortable.
