Who created Healyan and why?
Healyan began as a shared vision between engineers and memory cognition scientists from the University of California, Berkeley and Ilmenau University of Technology in Germany. Each of us had seen mental decline and Alzheimer’s dementia touch the lives of our families and friends, leaving us frustrated with how little support current tools provided. Through our search for better options, we discovered that one of the safest, most promising, and most effective approaches to supporting brain health was rhythmic light stimulation. Research, based on hard science and data, had shown that light, when applied in precise ways, could significantly influence brain activity and slow cognitive decline. We immediately set out to perfect the technology. To build something people could truly rely on, we partnered with Fraunhofer IDMT; a world-renowned research institute. Together, we are creating one of the most advanced wearables designed to support cognition, performance, and recovery with accuracy and trust.
Where we are today
-
Today, Healyan has developed a commercially available device, certified by both the FCC and CE, that delivers visual stimulation with precision and accuracy. Our in-house preliminary studies build on parameters already recognized in leading clinical research as one of the most promising method for supporting memory cognition health. We are now preparing to launch a large-scale clinical trial in Germany, aiming for Europe-wide MDR approval to establish Healyan as a trusted therapeutic option for Alzheimer’s disease.
